Most of my work represents our country's trade system and brings light to the hands that provide for America beyond the borders. The idea that our country allows food to pass the walls rather than people is a recurring them in my pieces. A lot of my paintings involve food because of the several issues that go about it. Food is a necessity yet its distribution is entirely political whether it discusses value, cost, tax, fair pay, health concerns for both the growers and the consumers, imports, and much more.
Our country’s political views on the border are currently divided with controversial ideas. Art has empowerment, it has the ability to start movements and bring awareness to issues or policies that need to be corrected. Art has always been a voice for several activists and I prefer to speak with encouragement. My paintings of Farmers are a tribute to the hardworking people beyond the borders as a reminder for us within to be thankful and considerate.
